Describe a person who inspired you to do something interesting - IELTS Cue Card

Who he/she is

The person who inspired me is Mr. Ramesh Sharma, my high school English teacher. He was not only a brilliant teacher but also a very positive and motivating personality who always encouraged students to think creatively and express themselves confidently.

How do you know him/her

I got to know him when I was in 10th standard. He used to take our English literature classes and also guided students in public speaking and debate competitions. Over time, I developed a close bond with him because of his supportive attitude and practical approach to teaching.

What interesting thing you did

Because of his inspiration, I participated in an inter-school English debate competition for the first time. I was nervous at the beginning, but I prepared my speech with his guidance and surprisingly won first prize. That moment gave me great confidence and opened my interest in public speaking and communication.

How he/she inspired you to do it

Mr. Sharma always believed that communication is a powerful tool for success. He used to say, “If you can speak your thoughts clearly, you can lead the world.” His constant encouragement, personal feedback, and belief in my ability inspired me to take the step and participate. Even today, whenever I speak in public or teach, I remember his words and the confidence he gave me.
