Describe an impressive English lesson you had and enjoyed

You should say

  • What it was about
  • When you had it
  • What the teacher did
  • And why you enjoyed the lesson

What it was about

The English lesson was about storytelling and creative writing. The main focus was on how to structure a short story, develop characters, and use descriptive language to create vivid imagery.

When you had it

I had this lesson during my final year of high school, when I was around 16 years old. It was part of a special English workshop that our school arranged for students preparing for final exams.

What the teacher did

Our English teacher, Mrs. Sharma, made the lesson incredibly interactive and enjoyable. Instead of just lecturing us, she played a short animated video and then asked us to create our own ending for it. She encouraged everyone to be imaginative, and gave us some excellent tips on how to use metaphors, similes, and dialogue effectively. She even read a few students’ stories aloud in class, which made the atmosphere really supportive and fun.

And why you enjoyed the lesson

I enjoyed the lesson because it allowed me to express myself creatively, which wasn’t always possible in other subjects. I’ve always loved writing, and that class gave me the confidence to think more seriously about my storytelling skills. Also, the way the teacher made every student feel heard and appreciated made the experience truly memorable. It didn’t feel like a typical classroom session—it felt more like a fun creative workshop.
