The person I’m talking about is Priya, a girl from my college who later became one of my closest friends. We were in the same course and ended up in several group assignments together.
I got to know Priya during our first semester. We were assigned to the same study group for a research project. That’s when I interacted with her more closely for the first time.
Initially, I didn’t like Priya because she seemed very opinionated and a bit bossy. During group discussions, she often interrupted others and insisted on doing things her way. I felt she didn’t really listen to others’ ideas, and that made me quite frustrated.
However, as we worked on more projects together, I started noticing a different side of her. She was actually very hardworking and always made sure the group succeeded. Over time, she also became more considerate and open to others' input. I realized her strong personality came from her passion and commitment, not arrogance.
Now, I feel really glad that I didn’t let my first impression define our relationship. Getting to know Priya better taught me that people sometimes act a certain way under pressure, but that doesn’t define who they are. This experience reminded me not to judge too quickly and to give people a fair chance. Today, Priya and I are great friends, and I truly value her support and honesty.
