The item I had to share was my laptop. It’s a fairly new device I use for both my studies and entertainment. At the time, I had all my study materials, projects, and even some design software installed on it, so it was quite an essential tool for me.
I shared it with my younger sister. She’s in school and doesn’t have her own computer yet. One day, her school suddenly shifted to online classes due to heavy rainfall and flooding, and she had no way to attend them unless she borrowed my laptop.
I had to share it because it was the only practical solution at the time. Her school had made attendance mandatory, and without access to a device, she would have missed important lessons and assignments. I couldn’t let that happen, especially since education is something we both value a lot in our family.
Initially, I felt a bit reluctant because I was worried about my own deadlines and work. But after seeing how genuinely thankful she was, I felt happy and proud of my decision. Sharing the laptop made me realize that helping someone — especially family — is far more rewarding than stressing over personal inconvenience. It strengthened our bond and taught me the importance of empathy and cooperation.
