When you took it

I took the photo about six months ago, in early November. It was during a weekend trip I took with a few close friends to relax and escape the busy city life. The weather was perfect, with clear skies and soft sunlight — ideal conditions for taking photos.

Where you took it

The photo was taken at a quiet beach called Gokarna, located on the western coast of India. We had hiked to a cliff overlooking the sea, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. I had brought my phone along mainly for music and navigation, but when I saw the scenery, I knew I had to capture it.

What is in this photo

The photo shows a panoramic view of the coastline just before sunset. The waves were gently crashing against the rocks below, and the sky was lit up in shades of orange, pink, and purple. There’s also a silhouette of one of my friends standing on the edge of the cliff, looking out at the horizon, which gives the photo a very peaceful and reflective mood.

And explain why you are proud of it

I’m proud of this photo because it beautifully captures a special moment that felt both calm and powerful. I didn’t use any filters or fancy equipment — just my phone and good timing. The composition, lighting, and emotion all came together naturally. When I shared it online, people were surprised that it wasn’t taken with a professional camera, which boosted my confidence. More than anything, the photo reminds me of a meaningful experience and a moment of peace, which makes it very personal to me.
