You should say:
What it is
How much did you spend on it
Why you bought it
And explain why you think you spent more than expected
The item I spent more than expected on was a smartphone.
I originally planned to spend around ₹20,000, but I finally bought a premium model that cost me nearly ₹38,000.
I bought it because I needed a fast and reliable phone for online classes, video calls, internet browsing, and daily communication. I also wanted a good camera for photos and videos.
I think I spent more than expected because I was attracted by the latest features, strong performance, and the salesperson’s recommendation. After comparing different models, I felt that paying extra would be a better long-term investment.
One item on which I spent more than I expected was my smartphone.
I had planned to buy a mid-range phone costing around ₹20,000, but when I visited the showroom, I ended up purchasing a premium model that cost me nearly ₹38,000.
I bought it mainly because I needed a fast and reliable phone for online classes, video calls, content creation, and daily communication. The salesperson explained the advanced features like a powerful camera, long battery life, and high storage capacity. After comparing a few models, I felt that this phone would be a better long-term investment.
However, I think I spent more than expected because I was influenced by the latest technology and attractive offers. Although it was expensive, I am satisfied with my purchase because it performs extremely well and saves me from upgrading again soon.
