Describe an area/subject of science (biology, robotics, etc.) that you are interested in and would like to learn more about IELTS Cue Card

You should say:

  • Which area/subject it is
  • When and where you came to know this area/subject
  • How you get information about this area/subject
  • And explain why you are interested in this area/subject

1. Which area/subject it is

The subject I'm deeply interested in is robotics, particularly in the field of humanoid robots and their integration with artificial intelligence. It combines elements of engineering, computer science, and even a bit of psychology, which makes it incredibly fascinating to me.

2. When and where you came to know this area/subject

I was first introduced to robotics during a science exhibition at my school when I was around 13 years old. There was a demonstration of a robot arm that could pick up objects and respond to simple voice commands. That moment sparked my curiosity and opened my eyes to the potential of machines mimicking human behavior.

3. How you get information about this area/subject

To stay updated, I regularly read tech blogs like TechCrunch and Wired, and I also follow YouTube channels like Boston Dynamics, which showcase cutting-edge robotic advancements. In addition, I take online courses on platforms like Coursera and edX to deepen my understanding of both the mechanical and software aspects of robotics.

4. And explain why you are interested in this area/subject

I’m drawn to robotics because it’s a perfect blend of imagination and technical skill. The idea of building machines that can assist humans in everyday life—or even save lives in dangerous situations—is truly inspiring. Plus, as artificial intelligence becomes more advanced, robotics feels like the next frontier where machines could soon think, learn, and interact with humans more naturally. It's a field where the future is constantly being written, and I want to be part of that story.
