You should say
It happened last year when I applied for my university admission abroad. After submitting my documents and interview results, I had to wait almost two months to receive my final offer letter.
I was waiting for the confirmation of my admission to the University of Portsmouth in the UK. It was my dream university, and I had worked very hard to meet all the requirements, so the wait was quite stressful yet exciting.
I made the decision to wait patiently because I truly believed that good things take time. I didn’t want to apply to another university in a hurry and later regret it. My counselor also advised me that the admission process was still ongoing, so waiting was the best option.
During the waiting period, I felt a mix of emotions — nervousness, hope, and excitement. Some days I felt anxious thinking about the result, but I also tried to stay positive and focus on preparing my visa documents. When I finally got the offer letter, I felt extremely relieved and proud of my patience.
In my country, people usually scroll through their phones, chat with others, or watch short videos while waiting. Some people also prefer to listen to music or read something on their devices. However, older people often spend the time talking to others around them or just observing what’s happening nearby.
Some people prefer a slow-paced life because it gives them peace of mind and helps them enjoy small moments without stress. They value mental well-being over competition and believe that life shouldn’t always be about rushing or meeting deadlines. A calm lifestyle allows them to stay more connected to nature, family, and themselves.
Yes, patience is definitely good for people because it teaches emotional control and resilience. When someone is patient, they make better decisions and avoid unnecessary stress. Patience also helps build stronger relationships since it allows people to understand others more deeply instead of reacting impulsively.
Yes, I think people today are less patient compared to those in the past. Modern technology and instant services have made everyone used to quick results — fast internet, same-day delivery, and instant communication. As a result, when things take time, people easily get frustrated because they are not used to waiting anymore.
People often lack patience because of stress, competition, and the fast pace of modern life. They are constantly under pressure to achieve more in less time. Social media also plays a role, as it promotes instant success and comparisons, making people more restless and less willing to wait for real progress.
