When you took the risk

I remember taking this risk about two years ago, right after I completed my undergraduate degree. It was during the pandemic, and everything seemed very uncertain at the time. I decided to leave my stable part-time job and start a small online business selling handmade crafts. Honestly, it felt like a reckless move because I had very little experience in business, and I wasn’t sure if people would even buy my products.

Why you took the risk

The main reason I took this risk was because I wanted to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone. I was always fascinated by entrepreneurship, but I kept putting it off because of fear of failure. Also, the pandemic made me realise how fragile job security could be. So, I thought it was better to try something of my own rather than regret never trying.

How it went

Surprisingly, it went far better than I expected. In the beginning, sales were slow and I doubted my decision almost every day. But after a few months of hard work and promoting my products on social media, things started to pick up. I even began receiving bulk orders from other small stores. Eventually, the business became profitable and gave me a lot of confidence.

And explain how you felt about it

At first, I felt terrified because I thought I had made a huge mistake. But once I saw the positive outcome, I felt proud and relieved. It taught me that sometimes taking calculated risks can lead to rewarding experiences. Now, I feel much more confident about making bold decisions in life.
