The goal I set was to improve my English speaking skills to a level where I could confidently participate in discussions and interviews, especially for academic and career purposes.
I set this goal around two years ago, just after I completed high school. At the time, I realized that although I had a decent understanding of English grammar and vocabulary, my fluency and confidence while speaking needed significant improvement.
To achieve this goal, I took several steps. First, I enrolled in a spoken English course at a nearby language institute. I also began watching English TV shows, listening to podcasts, and reading aloud to improve my pronunciation. Most importantly, I made it a point to practice speaking daily—either with friends who were fluent or by joining online language exchange groups. I even started recording myself speaking on various topics and analyzing my performance to track progress.
I felt incredibly proud and satisfied with the results. Although the journey wasn’t easy—it required consistency, patience, and stepping out of my comfort zone—I eventually saw great improvement. Now, I feel much more confident speaking English in any situation. It was not just about learning a language; it was about building my self-esteem and expanding my opportunities. Achieving this goal taught me that dedication and daily effort really do pay off.
