You should say:
What it was
When and where you faced it
Why you thought it was a difficult challenge
And explain how you felt at the time
One of the most difficult challenges I faced was preparing for a public speaking competition at my university. I had never spoken in front of a large audience before, and I had only a week to prepare a five-minute speech.
This happened about a year ago, during the second semester of my third year at university. The competition took place in our main auditorium, which could hold over 300 students and faculty members.
I found it extremely difficult because I had a fear of public speaking, often getting nervous even during classroom presentations. The idea of standing on a stage and speaking in front of hundreds of people was terrifying. Also, I had to memorize my speech and work on my pronunciation and confidence, all within a short period of time.
At the time, I felt anxious and overwhelmed. There were moments when I wanted to drop out of the competition altogether. However, after practicing a lot and receiving support from my friends and mentor, I gradually started to feel more confident. In the end, although I didn’t win, I was proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and facing the challenge head-on.
